broadcast range of WLIO NBC Lima of community events
being sponsored by local non-profit organizations to
include (but not limited to) religious groups, fire
or police departments, social or activity groups,
and government agencies. Generally speaking we do
not post regular religous services even with guest
speakers.
Please submit all information at least
one week prior to the event or any
ordering/registration deadline for an event. Two
to three weeks prior would be best.
WLIO NBC Lima reserves the right to edit or reject

| The Allen County Chapter of the American Red Cross is offering a Babysitters class for ages 11 to 15 years old on Saturday July 11, 2009 from 8:00am to 2:30pm. The class is being held at the American Red Cross Chapter House, 610 S. Collett St. in Lima, and will be conducted by a Red Cross certified instructor. The cost for this class is $40.00 per participant, which includes a Babysitters Manual and a Babysitters First Aid Kit. The class is a pre-registration and pre-pay course, and is limited to the first 25 students. Participants will need to bring a sack lunch & drink with them, and they will need to be registered and paid by Friday July10, 2009 by 3:00 P.M.

| There will be a poker run to assist Alex Hefner on July 11, 2009.
Alex, the son of Lisa (Sadler) and Michael Hefner of Lafayette is a 3 year old boy who has autism plus a sensory disorder which keeps him from eating solid food. He receives intense therapy and the insurance company covers very little of his expenses. There will also be a 50/50, raffle, bake sale and a band for anyone who would like to participate.
Thirsty's Food and Spirit's in Beaverdam will host the event. Sign up is at noon with the first bike out at 1:00 and the last bike in at 5:30. The cost is $15 single/$25 couple. The best poker hand takes 1/2 of the pot
A portion of the proceeds will go the St. Rita's Pediatric Rehabilitation Program which helps any child in need of rehabilitation.
