The events on the Community Calendar are posted free of charge to inform the public within the broadcast range of WLIO NBC Lima of community events being sponsored by local non-profit organizations to include (but not limited to) religious groups, fire or police departments, social or activity groups, and government agencies. Generally speaking we do not post regular religous services even with guest speakers.

Please submit all information at least one week prior to the event or any ordering/registration deadline for an event. Two to three weeks prior would be best. Free Dyslexia Workshop in Lima Dyslexia affects 1 in 5, and is the most common reason a bright child will struggle with reading, writing and especially spelling. On Wednesday, May 7, leading dyslexia expert, Susan Barton, will give a free presentation on dyslexia in Lima. She will explain why children with dyslexia struggle and what can be done to help them. The 3-hour presentation starts at 6:00 p.m. and will be held at Lima Community Church located at 2945 N. Cole St Street, Lima. Then we will have another live auction until approximately 2:00 p.m. Following with our Showcase of Bands, which features Exploit, Country Mile, Polly Mae, and Erastus. We will also have fun for the kids with the Kangaroo Kave. The event will raise money through various events such as live and silent auctions, a bake sale, barnyard bingo, raffles, cornhole tournament, golf cart raffle, bike giveaways, and more! All the funds raised from this event will go to fund a OSU student rider in this years Pelotonia who is riding 100 miles in a Lima cancer survivors name who received life saving treatment from The James Cancer Center.
