The events on the Community Calendar are posted free of charge to inform the public within the broadcast range of WLIO NBC Lima of community events being sponsored by local non-profit organizations to include (but not limited to) religious groups, fire or police departments, social or activity groups, and government agencies. Generally speaking we do not post regular religous services even with guest speakers.

Please submit all information at least one week prior to the event or any ordering/registration deadline for an event. Two to three weeks prior would be best. The Findlay Film Fest is an event featuring the viewing of independent films that are submitted by various film producers from throughout the United States. Paul Reiser will be playing his smooth jazz at The Meeting Place on Market on Saturday, November 21st. He is a crowd favorite! Come on out and listen - free and open to the public. At 220 West Market Street in downtown Lima, Ohio. Paul Reiser has been a part of the Lima music scene for 60 years. His first gig was playing for dancing at Lincoln Park in the summer of 1944. After graduating from Wittenberg University in 1949, He was a charter member in 1953 of the Lima Symphony Orchestra, playing clarinet and bass clarinet in it for 43 years. He also has been a member of the Lima Area Concert Band for over 30 years. During this period he was also a member of various jazz bands led by Don Hurless, Ray Coleson, Brad Stauffer and the West Ohio Big Band led by Bob Loughrige and based in Celina. Mike Huffman's artwork will be on display at The Meeting Place on Market November 27th through December 31st. Mike Huffman received his MA and then MFA from Bowling Green State University in 1974-75. He has been actively producing works of Art and teaching since that time. His teaching has included everything from 1st grade through graduate level painting and drawing. From 1986 -2006 he involved himself in ever increasing degrees of Arts Administration with the Lima City Schools concluding with 12 years as Director of Arts and Magnet Programs. As an artist his work has evolved from expressionistic interpretations of his environment to "gender politics" and other issue based subject matter. He is currently teaching grades 5-8 in the North Arts Magnet... and still painting. The art exhibit is free and open to the public, at The Meeting Place on Market, in downtown Lima, Ohio, at the corner of Market and West Streets.

Lake of Lights is a long standing tradition in Kenton and Americana Magazine is proud to host the event this year. The event will take place at Francis Lake south of Kenton on State Route 67. It will feature close to 250,000 lights and a new feature on December 24. On Christmas Eve, we will be setting luminary memorials adrift on the lake in memory of loved ones who not be here for Christmas. The memorials are $20 each and the name of the loved one will be spoken as the light is launched into the lake. At the end of the night, the only lights on will be those on the water.
