The events on the Community Calendar are posted free of charge to inform the public within the broadcast range of WLIO NBC Lima of community events being sponsored by local non-profit organizations to include (but not limited to) religious groups, fire or police departments, social or activity groups, and government agencies. Generally speaking we do not post regular religous services even with guest speakers.

Please submit all information at least one week prior to the event or any ordering/registration deadline for an event. Two to three weeks prior would be best. The community is encouraged to come show their appreciation for all veterans who served in the US Armed Forces. Tailgating starts at 5:30, gates open at 6:30 and the game starts at 7:30. In addition to watching great football, the evening will include military vehicles on display, carnations for all veterans in attendance, flags for fans, special jerseys worn by Shawnee players, a color guard ceremony, a special guest for the coin toss, a special half-time show by the band to recognize all branches of service, a special program insert and more! Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer among women in the United States, and it is a leading cause of death for women between the ages of thirty-five and fifty-five. Students and alumni at Ohio Northern University are doing their part to fight breast cancer by hosting the 15th Annual Stefanie Spielman Walk/Run for Breast Cancer on Saturday, September 20th, 2014 at 3 PM in conjunction with Ohio Northern’s Family Day. Registration will begin at 2:15 pm in the Dial-Roberson Stadium parking lot. Awards will be given to the top finishing individuals and teams of two. Raffle prizes will also be drawn following the race. The race is held by the Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists and Kappa Epsilon, two professional pharmacy organizations.
