The events on the Community Calendar are posted free of charge to inform the public within the broadcast range of WLIO NBC Lima of community events being sponsored by local non-profit organizations to include (but not limited to) religious groups, fire or police departments, social or activity groups, and government agencies. Generally speaking we do not post regular religous services even with guest speakers.

Please submit all information at least one week prior to the event or any ordering/registration deadline for an event. Two to three weeks prior would be best. We will be hosting our all new & revamped “PigMania Lima State Championship BBQ Competition and music Festival” at the Allen County Fairgrounds on June 2nd and 3rd, 2017. This 2 day festival includes numerous local and national BBQ vendors selling amazing food along with many live bands both Friday and Saturday. The competitions include A kids BBQ contest, A people’s choice BBQ contest, and a charity rib-off where people can sign up and judge ribs. Plus a slew of professional BBQ teams from around the country competing for over $8,000 in cash prizes. We are expecting between 5,000 and 9,000 guests for the event that will include 35 national BBQ teams competing for the State Championship and a chance to qualify to compete in prestigious BBQ invitational, a kids Q competition, a rib off and a people’s choice competition for the public to sample and judge along with some of the best bands and local talent. We are in need of both small and large businesses to sponsor this event.
