Television Support Operator
Great opportunity to get into the business! Your Hometown Stations has a part-time opening in the engineering department for a support operator. Position is typically weekends, Saturdays and Sundays from 3:00pm to 12 Midnight. Duties include; operation of a video server for commercial data base entrees and tape decks during newscasts. Applicant must have motivation to maintain a high level of accuracy, productivity, and dependability. Experience is not necessary. We will train you. Hourly salary is above minimum wage. INTERNSHIP
This is a part-time, hands-on position non-paid, college credit only
position.
Candidate will be gathering and compiling news from a variety of outlets,
including television news partners, the Internet, wire services as well as
traditional news sources for publishing on the Web site, with an emphasis on
delivering breaking news quickly and accurately. The focus in this position
is on writing and editing stories for the Web site.
This is NOT a web-design position or a technical position, but requires a
strong journalism background and an appetite for writing and reporting the

Do you want to learn more about television broadcasting? NBC LIMA is always accepting applications for interns in our production, news , weather and sports departments. Internships are unpaid positions. College junior and senior students must be able to receive credit for the internship from their school. Just because you apply doesn't mean you'll get the internship since we have limited number of position open each year.
NEWS INTERN - News interns may be responsible for a variety of duties. They will be asked to answer the assignment desk phone, taking viewer comments and story ideas; make phone calls and set up interviews, as well as search for file tapes. As part of the internship they will be offered the opportunity to go out on stories to observe a news crew and produce a resume tape. Depending on the intern’s
education background and experience they may be offered the opportunity to report.
SPORTS INTERN - The Sports intern will be responsible for monitoring sports feeds and log tapes, search for file tape, assist with sports videography when possible, and assist with administrative duties.
WEATHER INTERN - Weather interns would work in the NBC LIMA Forecast Center assisting meteorologists by obtaining information and materials for weathercasts. They will possess both an understanding of meteorology and experience with graphics. As part of the internship experience they will be allowed create an audition tape.
NEWS VIDEOGRAPHY INTERN - Work in the field with the crew and spend time in the edit booth. Other duties will include dubbing tapes on DVCPro and locating file tape for daily stories. They will also be given the opportunity to attend shoots in the promotion and production areas of the station. The photography intern will also be able to make a resume tape using the station's equipment.
PRODUCTION INTERN - Work with producers and directors as well as other department personnel in the planning and execution of television broadcasts. This includes working with daily newscasts, as well as local programming specials and sports events. Much of this internship experience is by way of observation due to regulations limiting the extent equipment can be used in a hands-on manner.
