Bond Money Returned To Wangler For Use In Legal Defense - 11/6/2009

Allen County Common Pleas Court Judge Richard Warren approved the bond reduction for Mark Wangler during a pre-trial this afternoon.

The 54 year old anesthesiologist pleaded not guilty to killing his first wife, Kathy, in September of 2006.

Wangler's attorneys argue he isn't a flight risk since he has family and property in Allen County.

They also contend Wangler needs the half-million dollars to adequately defend himself in court.

The money will be used to pay for legal experts.

Warren agreed with the defense, saying he'd rather have Wangler pay for the experts than place that burden on county taxpayers.

The money will be returned to Wangler's counsel and can only be spent by his attorneys.
