An Ongoing Scam In Findlay - 11/8/2008

Several residents in Findlay reported an ongoing scam to the Findlay police department. The scam involves publishers clearinghouse and has been initiated by telephone, internet and through the mail. Victims say they're told they're winners of a sweepstakes and are recipients of various amounts of money ranging from 250 thousand dollars to one million. But before they can collect that money they're instructed to send money to someone else. The scams are targeting the elderly. Anyone who suspects they are a victims of this type of crime should contact the Findlay police department or their local law enforcement agency.
