Hello, I’m James Rider, sports reporter and videographer here at Your News Now Sports. I am so happy to start my career in Lima.
In May 2010 I graduated from Ball State University. During my time at BSU I worked across many platforms and covered every sport at Ball State. I was an anchor on the emmy-nominated and award winning show “Cardinal Sports Live,” a live weekly 30-minute show produced entirely by students. I also served as the sports director for the student radio station WCRD-FM. I was lucky to cover many exciting events including a 12-0 football season and the women’s basketball team’s run to the NCAA tournament defeating Tennessee.
I am thankful for all the opportunities that I have had such as interning at WKEF/WRGT-TV in Dayton. I also spent a summer going to Columbus Crew games to work more on the radio and television play-by-play side of sports.
I love any and all sports. I grew up playing soccer and that developed into a passion for all sports. I have been lucky to travel not only across the country but abroad as well. I was born in Springfield, Virginia from there my family moved around. Before moving to Ohio I was across the pond in England.
